Amy Gagnon - Community Manager
Amy holds a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Maine at Farmington. After college she worked for Hannaford Bros. in their healthy navigation system called Guiding Stars. While there she worked as a Lead Verifier, Project Manager, and was the Recipe Specialist for partner organizations.
When Amy isn’t organizing the Plinko chips for Close the Gap, she is a wife, mom of two, and home engineer. She loves being outside, especially with her family, and by the water is preferable. In her downtime (not that she gets much) she loves watching horrible reality tv and Murder, She Wrote.
I believe in this principle, even though it isn’t always the popular opinion: Life is hard. It’s hard for everyone. We all have scars to explain, tragedies to mourn, and living to do. We’ve made hardship a competition and contentment a four letter word. Do what makes you happy and healthy. Even if you are leading a middle of the road life, you can still be happy, fulfilled, and successful. We need to stop competing to be the most miserable and start helping each other.

Favorite Story to Tell: My best friend and I went to Boston for a drag show on Halloween weekend. We kept joking that we were these old ladies trying to have a weekend on the town, no husbands or kids. Unknown to us, the hotel we stayed at actually had after parties for the drag show. We partied far too hard for moms in their mid 30’s but we made so many friends. We danced with the dancers from the show and met one of the drag queens. For a weekend we felt like we did in college. We gave life advice to young women out for Halloween festivities and gave wedding/marriage advice to a fabulous couple. One of my favorite weekends of my life.
